U-Bahn and S-bahn without e-ticketing/smart card system
I am amazed how both the U-Bahn and S-Bahn do not have gates nor a smart card system, similar to the London's Oyster Card, Japanese Suica Card or the Dutch OV-Chipkaart. To me, the S/U-Bahn in Berlin is the one of the few urban rail systems without both gates and a smart card system I have ever visited.
How come that even the BVG and the DB are still lacking on this particular upgrade? Will they ever have it?
